My Shutterstock Presents: Artist Series Feature

A few months ago, I was invited to be a part of an exciting project with Shutterstock that highlights contributors around the world, and shares a bit of a behind-the-scenes look into their lives as artists. Well today that project has been released and I can finally share it with everyone!

As a Shutterstock contributor, I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many awesome brands and meet a ton of people I’ve been able to hire for shoots. I’m so grateful they’ve also given me a platform to share my journey thus far as a photographer and creator. When we first spoke about the project, they let me know that they really wanted to focus on my background in the beauty industry before becoming a photographer. I’ve had a tumultuous relationship with the beauty and fashion industry growing up, and it’s always something I’ve been passionate about, but not quite fully supportive of. I’m still on my journey of discovering who I am and what I stand for as a creator and as a woman of colour in a predominantly white male dominated industry. I’m so honoured and thankful to have been given this opportunity to tell a part of my story that can hopefully resonate and be relatable to others.

Check out the blog post they did on me as a Shutterstock creator and photographer and you can watch my full Artist Series interview video below.

With a background in fashion, cosmetics and photography, I'm just a girl who has way too many interests and hobbies for a normal 24 hour day. As a creative professional, and also someone who loves to help out and share ideas with others, this blog is my way of sharing my life adventures with the world. My first love will always be fashion photography, but crafting, writing and beauty definitely tie for second place. So let's just say Dani Lyn is a girl with a camera who happens to have an exceptionally wide repertoire of talents and interests. And who also loves pink donuts, gold glitter and retail therapy. Oh, and I Chose Art.
